FAQ
Questions parents ask
Who is Ideas at Play for?
Kids 8 to 14 who get stuck in math or science, and the busy parents and homeschoolers who teach them.
How does a lesson work?
The tutor talks with your child by voice or text, works through the idea on a shared whiteboard, and asks questions until your child can explain it. Then come practice exercises at their level.
Does it just give my child the answers?
No. It asks questions and gives hints, changes its explanation when your child is stuck, and checks that they really understood.
What topics does it cover?
Math and science for ages 8 to 14. Start today with fractions; new topics are added regularly.
Can I see what my child is doing?
Yes. Every lesson, answer and grade is saved in your parent dashboard.
Is my child's data safe?
You control the account, and your child uses only a nickname. There are no ads, nothing is sold, and you can delete your child's history at any time.
How is it different from videos or practice apps?
Videos explain and apps drill. Ideas at Play works with your child one on one, finds exactly where they are stuck, and fixes that idea.
Does it work for homeschooling?
Yes. It can teach a topic one on one while you work with your other children.
What do I need?
A web browser on a computer or tablet. A microphone is optional.
How much does it cost?
You can try a lesson free. After that, Ideas at Play is $100 a month per family.
